LGBTQ Pride Hoops (PLV)
Celebrate Pace’s LGBTQ community and watch the Setters take on Southern Connecticut State University on Wednesday, December 7, for a special Pride Hoops Night at the Goldstein Fitness Center.
Show your pride and appreciation for the LGBTQ community at Pace while cheering on the Setters to victory! For the first time ever, Pace Athletics will host LGBTQ Pride Hoops Night for the men's and women's basketball games on Wednesday, December 7, when the Setters take on Southern Connecticut State University at the Goldstein Fitness Center on the PLV Campus. The women's game will tip-off at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men's game at 7:30 p.m.
The first 300 fans in attendance will receive special edition Pride Hoops Night t-shirts featuring a rainbow Pace logo, and a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Center Lane LGBTQ Youth and Community Education Center of Westchester, Westchester's only lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth and community education center.
Halftime will feature a drag show, as well as a special community service award presented to Pace alumnus and LGBT activist Anthony Nicodemo '05 for all his efforts both in Westchester and nationwide to promote a culture of acceptance and understanding.
Tickets are free for students with a Pace ID, $8 for adults, and $4 for non-Pace students.
While you’re in the Setter basketball spirit, be sure to check out the following action later in the weekend:
Women’s Basketball vs. Adelphi
December 10 | 1:30 p.m. | Goldstein Fitness Center
The Setters will look to end the homestand strong before a road trip to Connecticut. The Adelphi Panthers, a longtime division rival, will likely try and spoil the hometown fun, so it’s up to us Setter faithful to prevent that from happening.
Men’s Basketball vs. Adelphi
December 10 | 3:30 p.m. | Goldstein Fitness Center
Stick around for a double dose of hoops as the men’s squad looks to declaw those pesky Panthers.
