Inside the Actor’s Studio: Laura Dern, Guest Hosted by Greta Gerwig (NYC)

The Actors Studio Drama School is proud to welcome Greta Gerwig as a guest host for this special segment of Inside the Actors Studio. She is an Academy Award-nominated actress, playwright, screenwriter, and director whose work has left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry. Gerwig’s latest venture, Little Women, is her second directorial film set to release this December. In Spring 2020, she will appear on stage opposite Oscar Isaac in the Off-Broadway production of Checkhov’s Three Sisters. Gerwig is perhaps best known for Lady Bird, her debut film as a solo writer and director. In 2018, Gerwig made history as the fifth woman to be nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Director category, and the first to be nominated for a debut film.
She will be joined by two-time Academy Award-nominee Laura Dern, who also won four Golden Globes, an Emmy, and two Oscar nominations for her moving and heartfelt performances. On television, Dern was most recently seen as Renata in the second season of HBO’s Big Little Lies, and on the big screen, she starred alongside Kristen Stewart in Justin Kelly’s JT LeRoy and in Ed Zwick’s Trial by Fire. This winter, she will be seen in Noah Baumbach’s Marriage Story for Netflix, as well as Gerwig’s Little Women. Dern has also been prolific in her producing career, having established Jaywalker Pictures with partner Jayme Lemons where they have placed a great emphasis on storytelling in film and television.

2019 Pace Cyberstorm Conference (PLV)

The third annual Pace University cybersecurity conference will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2019, from 7:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. at Pace University’s Pleasantville Campus. The theme of this year’s conference is the Economics of Cybersecurity in Health Care: Understanding the Costs of Cyber Exposure to Protect Your Enterprise and Patients.
The health care field is a top target for ransomware and other cyberattacks. In 2018, health care was the second-most attacked industry, after the government sector. Seidenberg’s Cybersecurity Conference will convene leaders from the industry, government, and academia to address pressing issues, examine best practices, and explore how to mitigate cyber risks.

Employee Development Day (NYC, PLV)
The University is pleased to announce that in 2019, Talent Development will be holding two Pace Employee Development Days (formerly called Staff Development Day); one on the NYC Campus and one on the PLV Campus. The NYC Employee Development Day will be held on Friday, October 4. The PLV Employee Development Day will be held on Friday, November 15.
All Pace University staff and faculty will be invited to participate in a large selection of training programs that will be offered by various Pace departments and outside vendors, such as TIAA and Cigna.

Join Lubin, the Accounting Society, the Business Honors Program, the Lubin Business Assocation, and University staff and faculty for an informative business-minded discussion.
Inside the Actors Studio: Alfre Woodard, Guest Hosted by LaTanya Richardson Jackson (NYC)

The Actors Studio Drama School is proud to welcome LaTanya Richardson Jackson as a guest host for this special segment of Inside the Actors Studio. A critically acclaimed actress of the stage and screen, Richardson Jackson received a Tony Award Best Actress nomination as well as a Distinguished Performance Drama League Award nomination for her performance as Lena Younger in the Broadway revival of Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun. She received the NAACP Image Award Nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Television Movie, Mini-Series or Dramatic Special for her role in HBO’s Show Me a Hero, was honored at the 10th Annual Lilly Awards, and has received numerous awards for her philanthropic work. Currently, Richardson Jackson is starring on Broadway as Calpurnia in Aaron Sorkin’s critically acclaimed adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird.
She will be joined by director, producer, actress, and activist Alfre Woodard, who has been nominated for 17 Emmy Awards (winning four), seven SAG Awards (winning three), three Golden Globe Awards (winning one), 21 NAACP awards (wining nine), and two Independent Spirit Awards (winning one). Her Oscar nomination as Best Supporting Actress was for her performance in Martin Ritt’s Cross Creek. Woodard is acclaimed for her dramatic performances in films such as 12 Years a Slave, Passion Fish, Down in the Delta, and Follow Me Home, and has directed and produced Grammy Award-nominated Nelson Mandela’s Favorite African Folktales. Her voice talents can be heard in Disney’s recent adaptation of The Lion King, and she will also be seen in the upcoming Apple series See. In addition to her acting career, Woodard is a longtime activist who has been involved in countless nonprofit organizations.

The keynote presenter, Lindsey Graham Guinn, will address the fundamental of administrative assessment. Jean Galllagher, Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, will be among a panel of experts to address questions on integrating assessment with planning and resource allocation.
