Alumni Secure Major Immigration Rights Victory
Pace Law graduates Craig Relles ’12 and Steven Haskos ’11 have won a path-breaking decision challenging indefinite detention of asylum-seekers without a hearing. This recent victory is only one of several that highlight the outstanding work of students and alumni of the Pace Immigration Justice Clinic. For more than a dozen years, the Immigration Justice Clinic has provided free representation to indigent immigrants who are facing deportation or seeking to regularize their legal status.

Hey, New York Times! Still Looking for a Seat in a Computer Science Class?
The New York Times published an article on January 24, 2019, stating that the toughest part about getting a degree in computer science was getting a seat in class. According to journalist Natasha Singer, the degree program is so popular that demand far exceeds the capacity of many universities around the country to accommodate them.
Well, we at the Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems at Pace University wanted to let you know that we have seats available for you! While it’s true that our “little” school has been growing steadily over the past five years, we have gone to great lengths to ensure that there are classes at decent times, with great faculty, and in the hottest topics in tech, for our students to take.

Welcome Back, Joan Walker!
Please join us in wishing Joan Walker, PhD, a warm welcome on her return to Pace and the School of Education. Walker has been working for the National Science Foundation (NSF) for the past three years, serving as a program officer in the Education and Human Resources Directorate.
Leveraging her experiences at NSF, Walker will take on two leadership roles at the university level. First, she will serve as Assistant Provost for Research, working with Sally Dickerson, PhD, to support faculty's capacity to pursue external research support. In this role, part of Joan's work involves one-on-one faculty consultation regarding funding opportunities and proposal development. Second, Walker will serve as co-director of the Faculty Center, working with Jim Stenerson, PhD, to provide faculty development leadership and professional development sessions and workshops.
