A Teach Talk, game night, holiday shopping bazaar, and more are spreading cheer on the PLV Campus during 50 Days and 50 Nights.

For the holidays, you can’t beat Pace, sweet Pace! Come out for SDCA’s lineup of 50 Days and 50 Nights events for this week, which include holiday parties, a step team performance, a Teach Talk, and more.

Here’s what’s coming to town this week:

Monday, November 28

Teach Talk
11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. | Kessel, Gottesman Room
Enjoy TED Talks? Come see a similar speech right here on your campus! Teach Talk will cover important topics in education in a TED Talk-style manner. Join students and faculty as they immerse themselves and reflect on education in this event brought to you by Future Educators of America and the School of Education.

Common Hour Chaos
11:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. | Kessel Tabling
Make common hour creative. The Programming Board is back with Common Hour Chaos, which includes everything from making your own t-shirt and custom pillows to winter-themed crafts around the holidays.

Tuesday, November 29

Game On
8:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. | Kessel Butcher Suite
Get ready for game night. Get your game on for some fun competition with Lambda Upsilon Lambda.

Wednesday, November 30

Commuter Life Programming: Hot Chocolate in the Parking Lot
8:30 a.m.–10:30 a.m. | Miller Parking Lot
Warm up to a hot cup of cocoa! Commuters can grab a free cup of chocolatey goodness in the Miller Parking Lot as part of Commuter Life Programming.

Thursday, December 1

World AIDS Day: Step to Greatness
8:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. | Willcox Multipurpose Room
Globally there are an estimated 34 million people who have the virus. Despite only being identified in 1984, more than 35 million people have died of HIV or AIDS, making it one of the most destructive pandemics in history. Join the 808s Step Team as they dance for awareness and take this opportunity to show support to and solidarity with the millions of people living with HIV.

Alpha Lambda Sigma’s Red Gala
9:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. | Kessel, Gottesman Room
This is Alpha Lambda Sigma’s annual Red Gala which is a formal dinner, buffet style provided by Chartwells, followed by a presentation on the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation and an auction.

Happy Hour: Comedienne Emma Willmann
8:00 p.m. | Kessel, Boudreau Lounge
Emma Willmann is stirring up laughs and popularity! She was named by Time Out New York as one of the “10 Funniest Women in NYC,” and “100 Women We Love,” by GO! magazine. Willmann has also appeared on Oxygen and Lifetime network.

Friday, December 2

Court to the Classroom: Women's Basketball vs. Molloy College
11:00 a.m. | Goldstein Fitness Center
On Friday, December 2, third grade students from Bedford Road School and fifth graders from Church Street School are in for a treat! Court to the Classroom will consist of a tour of the basketball team facilities, lunch, a meet and great, and various academic activities incorporated into the basketball game experience! Pace students sadly can't downsize into a third grader, but this 11:00 a.m. match against Molloy College will provide a unique, and undoubtedly entertaining basketball experience for all. 

Holiday Party
3:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m. | Kessel Student Center
Get in the holiday spirit with the annual PLV Holiday Party brought to you by the Division of Student Affairs and Human Resources. This year’s activities include holiday photos with T-Bone, holiday window decorating, a favorite dish competition, cookie and wreath decorating, and much more.

Sunday, December 4

Annual Holiday Bazaar
10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. | Gottesman Room
If you need to shop for those holiday gifts for your family and friends or even just to splurge for yourself, come to Phi Sigma Sigma’s Annual Holiday Bazaar! There will be dozens of vendors from all over the tri-state area selling loads of items such as clothing, jewelry, baked goods, accessories, Greek letters, and so much more.

Common Hour Chaos

Wednesday, December 7

Commuter Life Programming: Stress Free Zone
12:00 p.m.–1:30 p.m. | Kessel Multipurpose Room
Stressing is so not worth it. If you’re feeling the pressure as the semester winds down, fear not! Commuter Life Programming is offering a stress free zone to help you relax before those finals.

Thursday, December 8

Happy Hour: Shane and Emily
8:00 p.m. | Kessel, Boudreau Lounge
Soak up the last Happy Hour of 50 Days and 50 Nights! Shane and Emily are a pop/acoustic/folk duo who combine different elements of a range of genres to create unique music. They have opened up for artists such as Echo Smith, Robin Zander of Cheap Trick, and many more.
