Artist Lecture: Elia Alba
Friday, October 11 | 1:20 p.m. | 41 Park Row, Room 202
Through a photo transfer process, Elia Alba creates dolls with her likeness and hands of friends and family to explore history, gender, race, and transformation. Blending fantasy, humor, and play, these objects draw from Caribbean and African mythologies, anthropology, popular culture, and fashion to re-consider forgotten diasporic histories and reimage futures inclusive of those histories. Read more about Elia Alba.
National Coming Out Day: Art Installation
Friday, October 11 | All Day | Campus-wide

This art installation displays those stories using balloons that will be scattered around campus! To participate, please fill out as many questions as you feel comfortable. Your stories will remain anonymous.
Exhibition Opening Reception: Tamar Ettun’s Jubilation Inflation
Tuesday, October 15 | 5:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. | 41 Park Row, Art Gallery
Featuring a performance by the Moving Company, the exhibit titled Jubilation Inflation unifies different areas of artist Tamar Ettun’s practice in a multifaceted examination of trauma, healing, and emotional empathy. The question of negotiating a world where we are exposed to both pain and joy plays a constant role in her work. The exhibition consists of several parts: at the center, there are several inflatable room-sized environments that visitors will be invited to enter and be enveloped by a climate of vivid color. The inflatables are surrounded by mixed-media sculptures, experimental videos, photographs, and a poetry wall.
