Larger Than Life
The Elephant Protection Act, which was originated by Pace students and faculty in the Environmental Policy Clinic earlier this year, was just signed into law by Governor Cuomo! This makes New York State the first in the nation to officially implement a ban on the use of elephants in entertainment. Read more about their incredible efforts.
Pace Performs With Starkid
Pace theater students recently performed with Darren Criss, a founding member of StarKid Productions best known for his performances in A Very Potter Musical and Glee, at Elsie Fest, NYC’s first music festival featuring stars from stage to screen. Check out the pic of the team!
Creating a Brighter Tomorrow
The PA Class of 2019 surpassed their fundraising goal of $25,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Light the Night Walk. Proceeds benefit blood cancer research, and donations of this magnitude are no small feat.
Resiliencia Humana
“We are Generation R. We are ready. We are resilient. And we will rebuild.” Sarah Gabriella Pereira was quoted in a HuffPost article written by John Cronin, a Senior Fellow and Professor at the Dyson College of Arts and Sciences, about her family’s experiences in the wake of Hurricane Maria.
An Intimate Off-Broadway Experience
After enjoying PPA’s Snakebit, The New York Times had this to say: “[It was] the intimate sort of Off-Broadway experience that has you picking apart the recognizable characters long after the curtain calls.” Read more about the performance in The Pulse.
It’s Chemistry, Baby
The Pace Chemistry Club—led by JaimeLee Rizzo, PhD, Professor of Chemistry and Physical Sciences—received two awards from the American Chemical Society for 2016–2017. They earned the top honor of “Outstanding Student Chapter” as well as a “Green Chapter Award” for environmental chemistry activities.
Spring is in the Air
The Pleasantville Programming Board won Program of the Year at the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities (APCA) 2017 Spring Carnival. Congrats to the team!
Go Setters! They’re Giving Back
The Pace Men’s Basketball team visited the Food Bank of Westchester in early October to give back to their local community and donate their time helping those in need. Check out the feature for more!
