The Politics of Food (NYC)

News Story

How civically engaged is your breakfast? Professor E. Melanie DuPuis will be reading and discussing her book, Dangerous Digestion, at the Birnbaum Library on November 15.

Dyson Professor of Environmental Studies and Science E. Melanie DuPuis, PhD, has spent the past several years immersing herself in the politics of food. Her recently published book, Dangerous Digestion: The Politics of American Dietary Advice explores the relationship between reform and activism, dietary freedoms, and the ways by which food is inextricably tied to how we think about American politics at large.

On Wednesday, November 15, DuPuis will be reading from and discussing her book at the Birnbaum Library Fishbowl from 10:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. All students and staff are welcome and encouraged to attend…and be sure to give great thought to what you’ll have for breakfast beforehand!
