Project Clean Plate Update (NYC)
On March 4, the Dining Advisory Board launched their campaign to reduce food waste. By popular demand, hours are being extended.
Over the last month, the Dining Advisory Board and volunteer students have been separating food waste from the rest of their waste as part of the Project Clean Plate Campaign, showing Pace students a glimpse into the 3,000 lbs. of food wasted every second in America, which could feed 650 people for an entire day.
Chartwells and the Dining Advisory Board would like to thank you for your support so far and join them in starting off the second half of the semester with another day of food waste campaigning.
Due to popular demand, Project Clean Plate has extended its hours from 12:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m., but they need your help!
"The campaign can only be as successful as the support behind it. I have heard students and volunteers alike request for more days to campaign. We are unable to because of the amount of volunteers. We strongly encourage anyone who wants to be a part of this sustainable initiative to come out and join us,” says Dining Advisory Board leader Jasmine Mandamiento. “Also, this is an easy and flexible opportunity for those who may need volunteer hours. We can never have too many helpers.”
There are a few weeks left for those that want to sign the iPledge form. Be on the look out in the Café over the next few weeks. For more information and to get involved, visit https://www.facebook.com/PaceEats or contact Mandamiento directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
