Relay for Life 2019
One community. One day. One night. One fight. On Friday, April 12, the Pace Community is kicking off its annual Relay For Life event. Sign up today!
One in three people will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime. The journey to end this horrible disease starts with a single step, and the PLV Campus is encouraging you to take that step with them and celebrate, remember, and fight back against cancer as Colleges Against Cancer at Pace hosts the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, through Saturday, April 13, at 3:00 a.m. in the Goldstein Fitness Center, this inspiring overnight event unites the entire community in celebrating those who have had cancer, remembering loved ones lost, and providing an opportunity to fight back against the disease.
Last year, the Pace Community donated 100% of the proceeds raised to cancer societies. This year, the goal is to raise more—with your help! More than just a walk around a track, Relay for Life brings the community together for a night of activities, food, entertainment, and games sponsored by student organizations and Greek Life. A Survivors and Caregivers Lap will celebrate the victories we've achieved over cancer and a Luminaria Ceremony will pay tribute to those affected by cancer with a bright glow of hope that lights up the night.
Proceeds raised from Relay for Life allow the American Cancer Society to continue their services to cancer patients and their families. Started in 1985, Relay for Life began with one man who circled around a track for 24 hours raising $27,000. This year, Relay For Life has grown to an organization of 3.5 million participants across more than 27 countries worldwide.
Make a difference today by signing up, joining a team, or simply making a donation. Let's come together for one day and one night.
