Returning Student Room Selection Process

If you’re planning on dorming again in Fall 2020, please make sure you submit your housing application by Friday, March 27 (PLV Campus), or Monday, March 30 (NYC Campus) in order to secure your spot—along with your roommates!

PLV Campus

If you are planning on returning to the residence halls for the Fall 2020 semester, the Returning Student Room Selection process is your opportunity to select your room placement for the fall. By not completing all parts of the process, your housing for the fall semester will not be guaranteed and you could be placed on a waitlist.

To be eligible to take part in the Room Selection process, you must complete the Fall Returning Student Housing Application. It will only be available until Friday, March 27, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. In the application, you will be able to make a $400 Housing Deposit via credit card or check. Please note that you must have a zero balance on your student account to be able to access the Fall Returning Student Housing Application and to submit a housing deposit. When you pay your housing deposit, you will receive a housing deposit receipt that you should keep for your records.

NYC Campus

Students planning to return to housing for the next academic year must participate in the Room Reservation process to reserve a room. Returning students who do not participate in this process will not be guaranteed housing for the Fall 2020 semester. This information sheet explains the Room Reservation Process in detail (PDF). Here is a highlight of some of the most important dates:

  • >> Monday, March 30 at 5:00 p.m. is the deadline to submit an online application (through MyHousing in the Pace Portal) and $400 deposit in order to be eligible for the primary (“on time”) Room Reservation process. Returning students may still apply and be guaranteed fall housing through May 1, but this is the deadline for remaining eligibility for the online room selection process.
  • >> Monday, March 30 through Thursday, April 2, 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. are the in-person room reservation days. Students will need to visit the housing office to select their room if they:
    • >> Have an approved medical accommodation (must complete the Medical Accommodations process BEFORE this time to ensure availability of their accommodation);
    • >> Are selecting an “all gender” housing assignment;
    • >> Are hoping to “roost” in their current housing assignment for next year; or
    • >> Students selecting their room through an in-person process who will not need to participate in an online room reservation process.
  • >> Friday, May 1, is the deadline by which all returning students must secure guaranteed housing for Fall 2020.
  • >> Wednesday, July 15 through Thursday, July 30, students who are manually assigned to a room by the housing staff will receive their room assignment.
