U.S. Veterans Reintegration into Higher Education

Please join Pace’s proud student veterans in attending an invigorating lecture presentation by Student Veterans of America (national) President and CEO D. Wayne Robinson, as he discusses the impact of social support groups on veterans’ transition into higher education and beyond, potential careers for veterans with respect to their transition into the work force, the future of new veterans from a political, legislation, networking, and advocacy perspective, amongst other topics.
Robinson served in the U.S. Army, where he rose through enlisted ranks to Command Sergeant Major. During his military career, he held many leadership positions in Artillery, Special Operations, and Recruiting, and graduated from every enlisted leadership course offered by the Army. He served as the Liaison and Operations Sergeant for the 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment Delta (Delta Force), has more than 39 awards recognizing his valuable contributions to multiple units, as well as actions taken during combat including the Order of Saint Barbara, the Glen E. Morrell Medallion, and the Meritorious Service Medal (6th award), and has served in more than 12 countries around the world.
Following Robinson’s presentation there will be a Q&A session. Light refreshments will be served.
Hoops for Troops
Thursday, November 6 | 12:30 p.m.–4:00 p.m. | Gym, C-Level | NYC Campus
The New York Knicks, in collaboration with PlayStation, Pace’s Office of Student Assistance, and Pace’s Student Veterans of America (SVA), will host Hoops for Troops, a commitment to service food and coat drive and clinic, featuring a collection of food and winter garments for U.S. veterans in need/homeless will be held. There will be special introductions and basketball clinic with New York Knicks Legends. Those who donate will receive a “meet and greet” with Knicks Legends, which includes an autograph and picture taken with them as well as a t-shirt. And that’s not all. A special appearance by the Knicks City Dancers, shooting games/contests for prizes and raffles including Knicks game tickets, DJ providing music and giveaways, refreshments and food, and more!
