Senior Testimonial: Nora Hogan

News Story

From Pace Preview to Commencement, graduating student Nora C. Hogan '15 looks back on internships, opportunities, and the wonderful people who helped her find her place at Pace.

"I’ll never forget how impressed my mom was with this school during Pace Preview. At the time, I was less than enthused about college itself in general, but my mom could not believe the amount of focus on internships and jobs. Fast forward four years, and I cannot even picture where I would be today without that strong focus on our careers.

The communications department is so generous. We are lucky enough to have Career Services, but we’re even more lucky to have our classmates that are already so motivated and willing to share that. I have professors and friends who are all happy to spend their (rare) free time on helping others with resumes and applications. Someone took that extra time with me, and spring of my junior year, I started to find my place when I began interning at the Rachael Ray Show. All it takes is someone giving you a chance, and Pace NYC is the perfect place to find that opportunity. Everyone will tell you that the entertainment industry is all about who you know and being in the right place at the right time, and when you spend all of your time at a college with so many people who are working hard to jump start their futures, you’re in the best place you can be.

After interning at The Dr. Oz Show for an entire season and adding the unbelievable NBCUniversal to my resume while working on the Meredith Vieira Show’s first season, I am grateful to everyone who helped me start on the right track towards graduation. The past four years have taught me so much about the real world, and I could not be more excited to walk with my fellow Class of 2015 in celebration of all that we have accomplished, and everything we have yet to do."
