From drag queen bingo featuring a former RuPaul's Drag Race contestant to learning how to vogue with an expert, the LGBTQA and Social Justice Center is kicking off the year with fun activities, events, and programming.

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans*, Queer, Questioning, Asexual, and Ally (LGBTQA) Social Justice Center is ready to help you kick off the new school year with super fun events and informative discussion groups all throughout September! Here’s a look at what’s in store:

Tuesday, September 6

Tie-Dye T-Shirt Making
10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. | 41 Park Row, Room 902
Rock the rainbow colors through a one-of-a-kind tie-dyed shirt made by you! Make friends and a cool craft you can wear year round.

Wednesday, September 7

Eat, Meet, and Greet
10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. | 41 Park Row, Room 902
Love Chipotle and making friends? LGBTQA students can come enjoy some delicious free eats and get to know one another.

Thursday, September 8

Sex Positive September

Score some helpful tips during a queer sex workshop from NYC hotspot Babeland.

Friday, September 9

7:00 p.m. | Student Union
Come on, vogue! Strike a pose and learn to properly vogue during this workshop hosted by Cesar Valentino, who has been vogue dancing for 35 years, appeared in music videos with artists such as Toni Braxton, Carmen Electra, and K7s, and was in the films The House Of Tres and Paris is Burning.

Sunday, September 11

Big Gay Ice Cream Shop OUTing
1:00 p.m. | 41 Park Row, Room 902
There’s no better way to chill than with a good ice cream cone, and the LGBTQA and Social Justice Center, Office of Housing and Residential Life, and Dyson College of Arts and Sciences’ Women’s Initiative Faculty-in-Residence is giving you the opportunity to enjoy it with fellow students on a trip to Big Gay Ice Cream! The first 35 students will get their treats for free at this iconic West Village shop.

Queer Movie Night

Grab some popcorn and cozy up for Mala Mala, a documentary about the power of transformation told through the eyes of nine trans-identifying individuals in Puerto Rico

First-Year Mixer

Are you a new LGBTQA student to campus? Have some fun getting to know other LGBTQA freshmen at the Center’s first mixer of the year.

Monday, September 19

Drag Queen Bingo
6:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. | Student Union
Who doesn’t love a good game of bingo especially when it’s paired with a world-famous drag queen? Sashay your way over to the Student Union for Drag Queen Bingo featuring a performance by Vivacious from Ru Paul’s Drag Race, drag contests including a high-heel race, and prizes from Babeland.

All-Gender Housing Mixer

Are you currently in all-gender housing or are you interested in living there? Stop by this event to learn more about your options and meet fellow all-gender housing students.

Coming Out Lunch
Meets weekly on Mondays beginning September 19

Come out and enjoy free lunch and discuss LGBTQA topics, social justice, allyship, health, international issues, intersectionality, and relationships.

T*Time Discussion
Meets weekly on Tuesdays beginning September 20
3:30 p.m. | 41 Park Row, Room 903
A discussion group for college-aged transgender/gender-nonconforming identifying individuals. This is a closed group for students identifying as transgender/gender-nonconforming or those exploring their gender identity. The last meeting of every month is open to cisgender allies.

Queer People of Color Collective (QPOC-C)
Meets every other Wednesday beginning September 21

Join the LGBTQA and Social Justice Center and the Office of Multicultural Affairs for a series of student-led conversations that celebrate, empower, and create space for queer people of color and our allies to share stores, experiences, and create community. The QPOC-C will bring dialogue around important topics that impact QPOC identity development, academic and professional life, and relationships. Guest speakers will also facilitate various conversations.

Meets every other Thursday beginning September 22

A discussion group for asexual, queer, bisexual, pansexual, and non-monosexual identified people who are looking for a safe space to meet, mingle, and discuss their experiences and realities.
