The Schimmel will host the world premiere of Salon Songbook: The Gershwins and Friends, a celebration of one of songwriting’s most successful sibling partnerships. George and Ira Gershwin, musical luminaries, ultimately transformed music during the Jazz Age, and helped give rise to the evolution of Broadway and Hollywood musicals. Kate Berlant is an LA-based comedian who is quickly emerging as one of the most unique voices in live performance today. Kate was featured on an episode of Netflix Presents: The Characters. Her performances have been commissioned by the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles and she has been described by The New York Times as a “magnetic improvisational comic” at the forefront of experimental comedy.
