Spring 50 Days and 50 Nights (PLV)

News Story

Everybody loves SDCA’s 50 Days and 50 Nights at the start of each academic year. So much so that SDCA is bringing it back for the spring. From speed dating to Super Bowl parties, this week is a touchdown.

The Hunting Ground screening
Tuesday, February 2 | 3:30 p.m.–5:00 p.m. | Center for Unity and Equality
Join Multicultural Affairs for a screening of The Hunting Ground, an exposé of rape crimes on US college campuses, their cover-ups, and the devastating toll they take on students and their families. Weaving together vérité footage and first-person testimonies, the film follows the lives of several undergraduate assault survivors as they attempt to pursue—despite incredible push back, harassment, and traumatic aftermath—both their education and justice.

Blood Drive

Did you know that just one pint of blood can save three lives? And if you began donating blood at age 17 and donated every 56 days until you reached 76, you would have donated 48 gallons of blood, potentially helping save more than 1,000 lives. Pasos del Corazon

Baila for a cause! Join the Organization of Latin American Students (OLAS) in dancing to raise money and awareness at the fourth annual Pasos Del Corazon (Steps of the Heart) dance marathon and competition. Couples who dance for the longest amount of time will be crowned the winners and receive gift cards. Admission is $2 and there will be food and a special performance. All proceeds will go to the American Heart Association. Register here.
