Take the Mic at Commencement

It’s your turn to grab the mic! Apply to be a speaker or singer at the 2019 Commencement ceremony by Friday, March 15. All graduating Pace students who would like to address the Class of 2019 are welcome to send in their materials.


PLV Campus

Addressing the Class of 2019 is a high honor! If you’re interested in auditioning to be the Commencement speaker, or would like to sing the National Anthem and Alma Mater at the ceremony this year, please email Erika Schmid by Friday, March 15, for more information.

NYC Campus

If you’re interested in addressing the Class of 2019 at the Undergraduate Commencement ceremony on Thursday, May 23, you will need to write a 3-4 minute speech and email Mary Stambaugh or call at (212) 346-1510 to schedule an audition.

To sing at the Undergraduate Commencement ceremony, contact the Dean for Students office at (212) 346-1306 to schedule an audition. Groups and soloists are encouraged to apply! If you’re applying as a group, all singers MUST be graduating New York City students. Singers will perform both the National Anthem as well as the Alma Mater.

The deadline to schedule an audition for either opportunity is Friday, March 15.


Are you a graduate student graduating this May? Would you like to address your fellow graduates? Well, you have the chance. We’re looking for a student speaker to address the crowd at the Graduate Commencement ceremony on Thursday, May 23. You’ll need to write a 3-4 minute speech, record yourself presenting it, then upload the video to YouTube.

To apply, email your contact information along with a written copy of your speech and the YouTube link to Nasreen Hussain. The deadline to apply is Friday, March 15.
