Conceptual artist Mark Dion is visiting on Wednesday, October 24, to give an exclusive talk on the intersection between science and art. There’s way more to it than you might think.

Mark Dion, a conceptual artist best known for his scientific installations, has examined the history of museums and the way in which we present knowledge for many years. “I identify with the mission of the museum, where you go to gain knowledge through things,” Dion once said. “Museums are time capsules. They embody the values of their time.”

His work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and documentaries, and he’s also received the Larry Aldrich Foundation Award, the Joan Mitchell Foundation Award, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s Lucida Art Award.
