Welcome James Sterngold
James Sterngold has been named Vice President for University Relations, effective July 9, 2018. We are excited to welcome him to campus.
The University community is thrilled to welcome James Sterngold, Pace's new vice president for University Relations.
Sterngold will be joining us from CUNY, where he has held a number of major roles, including senior advisor to the chancellor for communications and interim director of communications and marketing. He has overseen media strategy, crisis and internal communications, advertising and marketing, and social media, and served as the speechwriter for the chancellor. Additionally, he was the lead author on “Connected CUNY,” which outlines CUNY’s new strategic plan, and examines the state of higher education in the 21st century.
Prior to his career in higher education, Sterngold had an illustrious career as a journalist at The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and a number of other notable publications. In 2002, he was a member of the team cited by the Pulitzer board in awarding the Public Service prize to The New York Times for its 9/11 coverage.
Sterngold’s experiences in higher education, in-depth journalism, and his extensive knowledge of the New York metropolitan area and the needs of its students make him a perfect fit at Pace University. Please join us in welcoming him, as he officially becomes a Setter on July 9.
Beginning in 2019, on an annual basis, all Pace University employees will be required to complete an online Sexual Harassment and Discrimination Prevention training program. Have you completed yours?
