Welcome Week Continues (NYC)

From ice cream socials, to bubble soccer, to field trips ranging from baseball to Broadway, SDACA and friends are putting on quite a month of welcome events.
The Welcome Week train keeps on rolling, with another slate of can’t miss events. Here’s what’s on tap for the coming days:
Monday, September 12
BINGO for Books with Ice Cream
12:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m. | Student Union
Want some extra cash for textbooks? We’ve got you covered with “BINGO for Books,” where you can win bookstore book vouchers that could be a huge boost to the textbook fund, as well as Pace gear. E-N-J-O-Y some free ice cream as you vie for bingo domination.

Transfer Social

Book of Mormon (SOLD OUT)
7:00 p.m. | Depart from 41 Park Row, 8th Floor
Experience what many consider one of the funniest Broadway shows of all-time. Maybe in a few years, one of the drama-oriented Setters in the audience will join the production. For information about tickets, click here.
Bubble Soccer

Bubble soccer is one of those rare sports that’s as fun to watch as it is to play. So whether you’re diving into that bubbly abyss or cheering on from the stands, head to the Gym for some can’t-miss entertainment.

UMI and Shades Meet and Greet
3:30 p.m.–4:30 p.m. | 41 Park Row, 9th Floor
Meet the members and mentors of the Urban Male Initiative and Shades. With committed faculty and staff as mentors, the Urban Male Initiative (UMI) is designed to facilitate the retention, scholarship, graduation, and leadership of Black and Hispanic male students at Pace. Shades, a Women of Color collective, is a mentoring program that encourages collaborative research, scholarship, leadership, and community-building to help students graduate and succeed. Do you think it gets a little bit…Goofy…behind the scenes at Disney? Well there’s only one way to find out, and that’s through this Sunday’s Disney Behind the Scenes tour. Get the inside scoop on the props, costumes, and set pieces that help bring the Disney experience to life on stage.

Commuter Social

Whether you come to One Pace Plaza by car, train, bus, bike, or floo powder, there are many students who share the commuter experience. Meet your fellow Setters at the commuter social, share some grub, and make friends with some future train buddies.
Drag Queen Bingo w/ Vivacious

Who doesn’t love a good game of bingo especially when it’s paired with a world-famous drag queen? Sashay your way over to the Student Union for drag queen bingo featuring a performance by Vivacious from RuPaul’s Drag Race, drag contests including a high-heel race, and prizes from Babeland.
Braves vs. Mets
5:30 p.m. departure | 41 Park Row, 8th Floor
It’s almost fall, and baseball is winding down. Head out to Citi Field and see the Mets take on the Atlanta Braves. Whether your baseball food desires be peanuts and cracker jacks or Shake Shack, Citi Field has got you covered.

Spa Day

There’s still a lot of time to go until the end of the semester, but chances are you’re already stressed. It’s time to treat yo’self at the spa, and get rejuvenated for what’s sure to be some action-packed months ahead.
Student Government Swearing in Ceremony

Honor the new leaders of Pace University as they officially assume their positions in office. The swearing in ceremony that will be held in Washington in January may be a bit grander, but this one has that Setter touch.
Captain America: Civil War Movie Night
9:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. | Courtyard
Unwind with the stylings of Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, Sam Wilson, Natasha Romanoff, T’Challa, Scott Lang, and more with the number one grossing movie of 2016. Get out the popcorn, sit back, relax, and enjoy.

Giant Board Games and BBQ

You’ve probably had a growth spurt since age seven, so wouldn’t it make sense for your favorite board games to grow with you? Enjoy some burgers and adult-sized iterations of some classic childhood favorites, like Jenga and Connect Four.
