What's Shakin? Bacon!
Kevin and Michael Bacon, AKA The Bacon Brothers, are coming to the Schimmel this Saturday night for a concert you won’t want to miss…
You may know Kevin Bacon from major motion pictures like Footloose, Apollo 13, Mystic River, and many more. What you may not know is that Kevin’s brother, Michael, is an incredibly accomplished career musician who has composed hundreds of songs for television programs and movies. What you also may not know is that well before Kevin put on his silver screen dancin’ shoes, he and his brother grew up playing music together.
Officially known as The Bacon Brothers, Kevin and Michael’s groovy mix of rock, country, folk, and Philly-inspired soul has won over the hearts of fans all over the country. And for one night only—this Saturday, February 6, at 7:30 p.m.—they’re coming to Pace! The event is sure to be a rockin’ good time, and will have a distinct Setter flair—joining The Bacon Brothers will be Pace’s own PPA Adjunct Professor Paul Guzzone, a bassist for the band.
The duo has received rave reviews from some of the most esteemed critics out there. Says The New Yorker, “Hollywood hangs like an albatross around the neck of any movie star turned musician, but this duo shakes off the burden of fame with sharply executed rock that has a blue-collar, rootsy edge.”
Of course, you could always not attend—but that would be pretty silly move in this particular situation, wouldn’t it?
