Your Knapsack is Leaking (NYC)

There will be no shushing in the Birnbaum Library on February 19 as they host a faculty talk on the queer Asian American approach to understanding social privilege. Stop by during Common Hour!

The Birnbaum Library's faculty talks return. Join Assistant Professor of English Stephanie Hsu, PhD, on Wednesday, February 19, from 12:15 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the First Floor Student Lounge for a thought-provoking discussion. Her presentation Your Knapsack is Leaking: A Queer Asian American Approach to Understanding Social Privilege in the Neoliberal University will tie in with the University's 2012-2014 theme of Justice.

Hsu received her doctorate in English at New York University in 2009 and was a lecturer at University of California-Santa Barbara and at Hunter College before joining the Pace faculty. Her area of concentration is 20th century American literature and cultural studies, with an emphasis in Asian American studies and queer studies. She teaches courses on Asian American diasporic literature, queer theory, and 20th century American literature.
