Brian Anderson, director, Department of Emergency Management and Environmental Health and Safety, Pace University. City & State’s latest New York City 40 Under 40 list puts a spotlight on some of these unsung heroes who are influencing policies on a number of fronts, whether it’s the coronavirus pandemic, the recession, police brutality or climate change. Anderson is one of the many university administrators working to keep students safe during the coronavirus pandemic. Over the past eight months, Anderson planned for Pace University’s fall reopening. Working to prevent the spread of the coronavirus among the university’s students, Anderson implemented an extensive testing program to identify infected students, isolate them and stop the spread.

Fortune featured Pace graduate Telfer Clemens in "Telfar Clemens Makes Fortune’s 40 Under 40 in Media & Entertainment"

Telfar Clemens founded his namesake fashion label Telfar in 2005 while still a student at Pace University. Born in Queens, N.Y., the son of Liberian immigrants, his non-gendered designs captured the interest of fast-food chain White Castle, which commissioned Clemens to design uniforms and a capsule collection—proceeds of which went toward a bail fund for youths imprisoned at Rikers Island.
