Safety Awareness Week returns to Pace’s NYC Campus with a variety of events hosted by our Office of Safety and Security, the LGBTQA+ Center, and the Office of Sexual and Interpersonal Wellness.

Monday, September 20

Bystander Intervention: Showing Up for the Pace Community
4:00 p.m.–5:30 p.m. | One Pace Plaza, Student Center West
How do we stand up for those around us who might need support in a moment of discrimination, harassment, or violence? What steps would you take to respond if someone around you was uncomfortable, unsafe, or in harm’s way? Join the Office of Sexual and Interpersonal Wellness and learn the key tenets of bystander intervention.

Tuesday, September 21

Staying Safe Workshop
3:30 p.m.–4:00 p.m. | 41 Park Row, Dezer Den
An overview of safety tips, services offered by the Office of Safety and Security, an introduction to the PaceSafe app, and helpful approaches to active shooter situations.

Wednesday, September 22

STI Testing Event
1:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m. | 41 Park Row, 9th Floor
The Office of Sexual and Interpersonal Wellness and the LGBTQA+ Center are bringing Mount Sinai to campus for free and confidential STI testing. Come sign up for a testing time. Confidential support services will be available as well.

Join us for a one–hour self–defense overview workshop intended to help build your confidence and avoid unsafe situations. Please wear loose fitting gym clothes, if possible.
