Congratulations to Coral DiMichele on being a 2019 recipient of the Association of Mathematics Teachers of New York State (AMTNYS) scholarship! Coral is a Junior Childhood Education major with a concentration and minor in mathematics, on our Pleasantville campus. She is also a member of the Pforzheimer Honors College, Future Educators Association and Pi Lambda Theta education honor society. 

AMTNYS awards four annual scholarships to future elementary school teachers with a concentration in mathematics and secondary mathematics teachers. These awards are presented to outstanding undergraduates who meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled in a Teacher Education program in New York State;
  • Completed at least 18 credit hours of mathematics;
  • Have a cumulative G.P.A. of at least 3.25. 

​Awards are based on a committee evaluation of each student's achievements throughout their academic program, as well as their involvement, and contribution to their school and mathematics community.
