Restoring our Harbor.
Dr. Lauren Birney Published in Two Journals
Congratulations to School of Education professor, Dr. Lauren Birney, who recently had two papers published!
The first, a collaboration with fellow Pace professors, is titled "Environmental habitat restoration and inquiry-based learning with New York City public schools-an urban model in STEM education," which was published in the Journal of Environmental Studies and Sciences. This special issue is the work of Pace professors from Dyson College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Education and Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems.
The second is a partnership publication from one of her National Science Foundation grants titled, "Using urban harbors for experiential, environmental literacy: Case studies of New York and Chesapeake Bay," and was published in the Elsevier Regional Studies in Marine Science. What a fine example of community collaboration with both the New York Harbor and Chesapeake Bay!
Dr. Birney's work is instrumental and making an impact in environmental restoration!
