Teachers can receive up to $4,500 in tuition subsidies for Advanced Certificate courses in either TESOL or Bilingual Education, thanks to the Clinically Rich Intensive Teacher Institute (CR-ITI) ESOL/BE grant. These programs lead to certification in high need areas of supporting English language learners and in bilingual education. The clinically rich model will include an innovative approach that emphasizes mentorship and meaningful experiences in quality classrooms.
The TESOL and Bilingual Education programs at Pace University provide certified educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to support the needs of linguistically and culturally diverse students. We prepare candidates through expanding their knowledge base, engaging them in active and applied learning, integrating fieldwork and mentorship, and providing useful feedback and assessment.

"I'm currently enrolled in Pace's Advanced Certification in TESOL program. I'm in my 17th year of teaching and I am learning a tremendous amount about working with ELL's. We are delving deeply into the research behind language acquisition and this is fascinating material. We are also observing instructional practices of various bilingual teachers in a variety of settings. Of course, this work helps us reflect on our practice, but it is also very practical and informative."
