Our PhD program is small and selective. Instead of admitting students based primarily on their grades and performance on standardized tests, as most PhD programs do, we prefer to admit students who have already demonstrated sufficient research sophistication and potential, demonstrated by the completion of quality master’s research projects or theses, and effective research presentations.
One of our high ranking priorities is to ensure that the PhD in Computer Science program is effective with a high completion rate. We encourage all applicants to hold a master’s degree in computer science or a closely related field.
Approximately 5 to 12 applicants with high academic qualifications and proven research ability will be admitted as full-time students each year. This small number allows us to focus on providing quality teaching and support to students as they work toward their PhD.
