Student Employment Opportunities

The Center for Student Development & Campus Activities hires several different student positions throughout the entire year. These positions vary from student office staff to graduate students, but each staff member is an integral part of the office's operations. Students will gain an understanding of student activities and leadership opportunities, acquire office skills and competencies, and become familiar with countless programs on campus. Our student staff are part of the office family and have a unique opportunity to work for this fast-paced and high-energy office.

The Campus Activity Assistant (Activity Assistant or CAA) position assists the entire staff within the Center for Student Development & Campus Activities (SDCA) with administrative duties, program development, leadership training (s), and other assigned tasks.

Commuter Assistants (CA)

Commuter Assistans (CA)
The Commuter Assistant (CA) position assists the Coordinator for Student Development providing service for the commuter population. This includes program development and implementation for commuter students. The CA will also serve as a mentor for commuter students and will hold office hours to be a resource for commuter students.

Programming Specialists

Programming Specialists
The Programming Specialist position assists the entire staff within the Center for Student Development & Campus Activities (SDCA) with coordinating the planning and logistics for student organization events. This position will assist in the coordination of student organization planning, budgeting and program execution.

Student Interns

The office annually employs marketing majors, finance majors, and communication majors to assist with projects within the SDCA office as interns. Student interns are typically supervised by one of the professional staff within SDCA and are assigned projects specific to their major(s) or desired future professional field. Students interns can work with Clifton Strengths, financial systems, and various marketing (websites, social media, publicity).

Cliftonstrengths Intern
Our CliftonStrengths Intern is responsible for assisting with CliftonStrengths initiatives housed within the Center for Student Development & Campus Activities. The intern reports directly to the Director of SDCA and supports the CliftonStrengths Advisory Team efforts. Finance Intern
The Finance Intern for the Center for Student Development & Campus Activities will assist the professional and para -professional staff in overseeing the health and stability of our 65 agency accounts. The Finance Intern will be responsible for communicating process, procedures and all updates relevant for student organizations,and faculty/ staff advisors when appropriate.

Marketing Intern
The Marketing Intern will assist in the overall vision and implementation of purposeful marketing that is intentional for our audience. This audience is primarily geared to students, but will also include faculty, staff, administration and third-party vendors. The Marketing Intern will also need a working knowledge of production or marketing design software (Publisher, Photoshop or other like programs) and have the ability to creatively design, critique, and implement Marketing for the SDCA office and its programs or services.

Graduate Assistants (GA)

The SDCA office typically hires 5 Graduate Assistants to help facilitate various functional areas and programs ran through the office. Positions will fall under from orientation and transitions, campus programming, fraternity and sorority life, and student leadership. Positions run for an academic year.

Graduate Assistant For Campus-Wide Programming
The Graduate Assistant for Campus-Wide Programming is responsible for supporting the efforts of the Programming Board by attending events, managing the budget, booking space on campus, and working with the students to order supplies and marketing for each event. This staff member also helps to plan senior programming and events for first generation college students.

Graduate Assistant For Fraternity & Sorority Life
Fostering a strong commitment to the advancement of the fraternal movement, the Graduate Assistant for Fraternity & Sorority life is responsible for supporting the goals and initiatives of individual Greek-letter organizations as well as three governing bodies. Additionally, the GA also provides direct advisement to organization members on a variety of topics ranging in size and scope from program/event planning, to career planning, to leadership and membership development. They are responsible for the planning and execution of major community events, including Greek Week, Circle of Greeks, the Officer Transition Dinner, amongst others. The GA reports directly to the Assistant Director for Fraternity & Sorority Life.

Graduate Assistant For Leadership Initiatives
This position assists the administration, implementation, and assessment of the Setters Leadership Program (SLP), Setters Leadership House (SLH), Fall Leadership Conference, Women’s Leadership Conference, The Blue and Gold Campus Community Award Ceremony, Pace Makes a Difference Day, and other leadership programming targeting undergraduate and graduate students. The Graduate Assistant will not work with every leadership initiative, however, they will also serve on the SLP Advisory Board with other faculty.

The Graduate Assistant for Orientation and Transitions assists with the selections processes for Orientation Leaders, Orientation Office Staff, and Week of Welcome (WOW) Leaders. This staff member also helps plan and staff WOW and Family Weekend activities.

Summer Orientation

Orientation Leader
Orientation Leaders (OLs) are among the first people a new Pace student will meet. OLs are students who show their Pace love and pride by welcoming new Setters to campus over the summer. OLs guide the new students through the Orientation program, answer questions, and support the forming of community at each Orientation session. Orientation Staff
Orientation Office Staff (O-Team) are students who help with the logistics and communication leading up to and during Orientation each summer. Members of O-Team will communicate with new students over the summer, answer their questions about Orientation, and help ensure that the Orientation program runs smoothly.

Week Of Welcome (WOW) Leader
Week of Welcome Leaders (WOW Leaders) are responsible for welcoming new students to campus on move-in weekend. Pace schedules many community activities in the days leading up to the first day of class, and WOW Leaders help guide the students and facilitate these activities.
