Pace Scholarships for Study Abroad

Pace Study Abroad Scholarship (Academic Year 2020-2021)
In Academic Year 2020-21, Pace Education abroad is offering a limited number of highly selective scholarships for Pace students studying abroad on (1) semester programs, and (2) faculty-led programs. Applicants must meet these requirements:

  • hold a 3.3 GPA or higher
  • have not yet studied abroad
  • have at least one semester remaining at Pace upon return from the term abroad
  • submit required application materials by the stated deadlines (an on-line application and a 500-word essay)

APPLY HERE. The application deadline for Fall 2020 semester and faculty-led programs has closed (on March 1, 2020). The application deadline for Spring 2021 semester and faculty-led programs is October 1, 2020. The Scholarship only applies to credit-bearing semester and Pace faculty-led study abroad programs. Awards will be given in the amount of $1,000, and Fall 2020 awardees will be notified by June 1, 2020. Scholarship recipients must participate in activities at Pace that promote Study Abroad. 

Lubin Scholarships
The Lubin School of Business, through grants received from the Figueroa Family Fund, awards scholarships for International Field Studies (Lubin's faculty-led programs) and semester study abroad programs. Those who are offered an award will receive $2,000 per student for International Field Studies and $3,000 per student for semester programs. Also, through a grant received from the Nancy and Gene Celentano Fund, student awardees enrolled in a specific international field study (Fall 2020 Johannesburg & Cape Town, South Africa) will receive $2,500 scholarships per student. Honors Scholarship
Only applicable for students admitted to Pace's Honors College before Fall 2019. Students can apply for a study abroad grant of up to $1,000 from the Pforzheimer Honors College to use towards an approved credit-bearing study abroad program (semester, summer, or faculty-led courses). Confirmation with the Honors College is required. Note: This scholarship can be used only once during a student's time at Pace, and it must be used for overseas travel. Dyson Scholarship
Dyson provides scholarships for participation on Dyson faculty-led programs. Dyson offers a limited number of competitive World Cultural Exchange Fund awards worth $1,000 each for undergraduate/graduate faculty-led programs/courses. Applicants must be enrolled in any major at Dyson College and must have accrued a minimum of 12 credits at Pace. Applicants with QPA below 3.0 will not be considered. Apply for Dyson Scholarships

Holmes Fund
Available for Economics, History, and Political Science majors participating in a credit-bearing study abroad program. One to two students will receive $1,000 for short-term faculty-led/summer programs and $3,000 for semester/academic year programs.

Child Family Health International (CFHI)
Multiple scholarships available for Pace University Study Abroad Approved Students from the College of Health Professions. Scholarships are up to $1,500 and available at CFHI Scholarships. Scholarship recipients will be asked to keep a blog and other publications with CFHI. Upon return, Pace CFHI scholarship recipients are expected to share their experiences abroad with current Pace students at CHP and at Education Abroad events.

The Education Abroad Network/TEAN (Study Abroad Provider)
TEAN provides numerous scholarships, including an annual full-ride scholarship, need- and merit-based scholarships, diversity scholarships, even a photography scholarship, plus others. Awards up to $15,000.

USAC (Study Abroad Provider)
Variety of scholarships awarded for non-traditional study abroad destinations, USAC legacy students, and more. Up to $3,000 for Pace students. Complete the Summer 2020, Fall 2020, and year-long AY 2020 USAC Scholarship Application, found on your USAC Gateway account as 'Scholarship Application: Optional Form', by the March 15, 2020 deadline!

University of Haifa, Israel: Discover Middle East Scholarship
Degree-seeking students with a minimum 3.0 GPA attending the USAC Haifa, Israel, program are eligible for this scholarship, which will be awarded each summer, fall, and spring semester. Preference will be given to students with little to no previous background and exposure to the Middle East.

Sophia University, Japan
The Japanese Student Services Organization (JASSO) Scholarship for International Students is awarded to one student with demonstrated financial need. Award up to 400,000 JPY for a semester and 880,000 JPY for a year.

IAU College, France
IAU offers several merit-based scholarships, need-based scholarships, grants, and work-study opportunities to semester, summer, and January-term students.

Stuttgart Media University, Germany (PDF)
Scholarship to students in the minor program “Business Analytics.” The scholarship offers students €800 per month for a 5-month study abroad semester.

University of Mannheim, Germany
The easiest way to go abroad on a scholarship is to apply for one of the Erasmus exchange programs at the University of Mannheim.

$2,500 scholarships for U.S. citizen undergraduate students participating in study abroad programs in Japan.

American Foundation of Savoy Orders

Association of American Study Abroad Programs - for study in the UK
Scholarship is for those studying abroad in the UK who are interested in starting a membership in AASAP. This merit-based award is £500-£1,000.

Boren Awards
Boren Awards are for U.S. undergraduate and graduate students to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests, and underrepresented in study abroad - including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East.

BUTEX Scholarship - for study in the UK
£500 scholarship for semester study in the United Kingdom.

Critical Language Scholarship Program
Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, these are fully-funded summer language opportunities.

DAAD German Academic Exchange Service - for study in Germany
DAAD awards are for highly qualified undergraduate students, graduating seniors, and graduate students for study abroad in Germany.

Freeman-ASIA - for study in Asia
Up to $5,000 for a semester, $7,000 for an academic year, or $3,000 for a summer program awarded to students studying abroad in Asia.

Fund for Education Abroad Scholarships
The Fund for Education Abroad is committed to decreasing financial restrictions for students through the provision of grants and scholarships. Scholarships range from $1,250 to $10,000 and can be applied for programs that run for at least 28 days. Gilman International Scholarship
Gilman Scholarships are based on Federal Pell Grant eligibility as well as the location of the study abroad program. Gilman provides over 3,500 scholarships annually to undergraduates (U.S. citizens) going abroad for 3+ weeks. Students can receive up to $5,000. Go Overseas Scholarship to Study Abroad - for study in New Zealand
Go Overseas provides $500 for students to study or intern abroad in New Zealand.

The Hiliary Echo Douglas Scholarship
Study abroad for at least four weeks - for study in Vietnam or other southeast Asian countries Travel Video Contest
The Grand Prize is $4,000 (runner-up prizes available too). To enter the competition, students create a short (4-minute) movie describing why they want to study abroad. Available for US and International students.

ItaliaRail Scholarship - for study in Italy
$1,000 scholarship for Fall or Spring study abroad in Italy.

Jane Gluckmann and Carol Rausch Go Global Scholarship
For students going to Mexico, Central America, South America, France, Germany to study. (Established in memory of Jane Gluckmann and Carol Rausch.)

Jeanne Marandon Fellowships - for study in France
Available for students in the fields of Human and Social Sciences who want to study in France. Fellowships for undergrads are $10,000 for the academic year. Applicants in literature, art, music, history, social sciences, and communications have priority; however, all majors are accepted. Funding from Société des Professeurs Français et Francophones d'Amérique (SPFFA).

Malú Alvarez Global Access Scholarship
Five semester scholarships to be awarded each year for study in any country of the student's choosing.

Morgan Stanley Scholarships - for study in Japan
The Morgan Stanley Scholarships for Study in Japan is for juniors and seniors studying economics and international finance who have been accepted to study abroad in Japan. Awards up to $7,500.

NAFSA Tamara Bryant Memorial Scholarship
Funds for African-American undergraduate students in the U.S. who hope to study abroad and gain valuable experiences that will prepare them for the increasingly global environment into which they will graduate.

Norman Woodberry Scholarship
The World Affairs Forum offers a scholarship program for students studying abroad. It’s only available to students who reside or study in Fairfield County CT or Westchester County NY.

Order Sons of Italy in America - for study in Italy
OSIA offers scholarships to students of Italian descent, for studying Italian language on study abroad in Italy.

Rainbow Scholarship
Awarded to deserving LGBTQI students who aims to participate in a high-quality, rigorous education abroad program. Minimum of 4 weeks studying in country on a for-credit program for summer, fall, or spring. U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or DACA students can apply.

SE Rankings Scholarship
This scholarship is based on creating a compelling piece of content that will be catchy and practical. Showcase your marketing knowledge and win a scholarship! Write a 1,000-word essay for the chance to receive $1,000 towards your study abroad program.

The South India Term Abroad (SITA +) Nallennam Scholarship
Awards are $5,000 for a full semester program and $2,500 for a summer term. Preference given to those studying abroad in southern India, but open to all.

The Idealo Scholarship for Pioneers of Tomorrow
Idealo awards 10 scholarships with a total value of almost £80,000. Scholarship recipients will receive £650 a month for a whole year to apply towards their study abroad program.

Tortuga Backpacks Study Abroad Scholarship
Tortuga provides a $1,000 scholarship to students in good academic standing who have applied (or have been accepted) to study abroad through their university or college.

U.S Student Fulbright
The U.S. Student Fulbright program provides grants to undergraduate and graduate students to study, research, or teach English abroad.

US-Japan Bridging Foundation - for study in Japan
The US-Japan Bridging Foundation grants scholarships to students who were accepted into a study abroad program in Japan. Awards from $2,500-$4,000 provide for travel and living expenses. Scholarships are for semester or academic year programs only.

The Watanabe Study Abroad Scholarship - for study in Japan
Provides financial assistance to undergraduates/graduate students for a semester or year-long study abroad program in Japan. The scholarship supports up to the full cost of attendance at the study abroad program of the student’s choice.
