Pace Scholarships for Study Abroad
Pace Abroad Grant (special opportunity for academic year 2018-2019)
This $500 grant is for Pace students studying abroad who hold a 3.0 GPA or higher. The Pace Abroad Grant is applicable for credit-bearing study, research, or internships abroad. If eligible, the grant will be applied to the student’s account during the term enrolled. Eligible students will need to sign off on the material submission “Pace Abroad Grant Terms & Conditions” within their Pace application in order for the grant to be applied. Grant recipients are required to participate in activities that promote Study Abroad more widely at Pace. [Note: applies to travel taking place prior to June 30, 2019.]
For AY2019-2020 (programs beginning on or after July 1, 2019), Honors students can apply for a study abroad grant of up to $1,000 from the Pforzheimer Honors College to use towards an approved credit-bearing study abroad program (semester, summer, winter, academic year, and faculty-led courses). Confirmation with the Honors College is required. Note: This scholarship can be used only once during a student's time at Pace, and it must be used for overseas travel.
Dyson Scholarship for participation on Spring 2019 Dyson faculty-led programs. Dyson offers a limited number of competitive World Cultural Exchange Fund awards worth $1,000 each for undergraduate/graduate faculty-led programs/courses for the Spring 2019 semester. Applicants must be enrolled in any major at Dyson College and must have accrued a minimum of 12 credits at Pace. Applicants with QPA below 3.0 will not be considered.
Available for Economics, History, and Political Science majors participating in a credit-bearing study abroad program. One to two students will receive $1,000 for short-term faculty-led/summer programs and $3,000 for semester/academic year programs.
Up to $3,000 available to students in the Lubin School of Business completing a credit-bearing study abroad program.
Scholarships offered through Pace's Partner institutions
Child Family Health International (CFHI)
Multiple scholarships available for Pace University Study Abroad Approved Students. Scholarships are up to $1,500 and available at CFHI Scholarships. Scholarship recipents will be asked to keep a blog and other publications with CFHI. Upon return, Pace CFHI scholarship recipients are expected to share their experiences abroad with current Pace students at CHP and at Education Abroad events.
The Education Abroad Network/TEAN (Study Abroad Provider)
TEAN provides numerous scholarships, including an annual full-ride scholarship, need- and merit-based scholarships, diversity scholarships, even a photography scholarship, plus others. Awards up to $15,000.
USAC (Study Abroad Provider)
Variety of scholarships awarded for non-traditional study abroad destinations, USAC legacy students, and more. Up to $3,000 for Pace students.
Sophia University, Japan
The Japanese Student Services Organization (JASSO) Scholarship for International Students is awarded to one student with demonstrated financial need. Award up to 400,000 JPY for a semester and 880,000 JPY for a year.
IAU College, France
IAU offers several merit-based scholarships, need-based scholarships, grants, and work-study opportunities to semester, summer, and January-term students.
Stuttgart Media University, Germany (PDF)
Scholarship to students in the minor program “Business Analytics.” The scholarship offers students €800 per month for a 5-month study abroad semester.
University of Mannheim, Germany
The easiest way to go abroad on a scholarship is to apply for one of the Erasmus exchange programs at the University of Mannheim.
American Association of Teachers of Japanese
$2,500 scholarships for U.S. citizen undergraduate students participating in study abroad programs in Japan.
Association of American Study Abroad Programs - for study in the UK
Scholarship is for those studying abroad in the UK who are interested in starting a membership in AASAP. This merit-based award is £500-£1,000.
Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship
Gilman Scholarships are based on Federal Pell Grant eligibility as well as the location of the study abroad program. Read about Pace's 2018 Gilman Scholarship Recipients.
Boren Awards are for U.S. undergraduate and graduate students to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests, and underrepresented in study abroad - including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East.
BUTEX Scholarship - for study in the UK
£500 scholarship for semester study in the United Kingdom.
Critical Language Scholarship Program
Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, these are fully-funded summer language opportunities.
DAAD German Academic Exchange Service - for study in Germany
DAAD awards are for highly qualified undergraduate students, graduating seniors, and graduate students for study abroad in Germany.
Freeman-ASIA - for study in Asia
Up to $5,000 for a semester, $7,000 for an academic year, or $3,000 for a summer program awarded to students studying abroad in Asia.
Fund for Education Abroad Scholarships
The Fund for Education Abroad is committed to decreasing financial restrictions for students through the provision of grants and scholarships.
Go Overseas Scholarship to Study Abroad - for study in New Zealand
Go Overseas provides $500 for students to study or intern abroad in New Zealand.
InternationalStudent.com's Travel Video Contest
The Grand Prize is $4,000 (runner-up prizes available too). To enter the competition, students create a short (4-minute) movie describing why they want to study abroad. Available for US and International students.
ItaliaRail Scholarship - for study in Italy
$1,000 scholarship for Fall or Spring study abroad in Italy.
Jeanne Marandon Fellowships - for study in France
Available for students in the fields of Human and Social Sciences who want to study in France. Fellowships for undergrads are $10,000 for the academic year. Applicants in literature, art, music, history, social sciences, and communications have priority; however, all majors are accepted. Funding from Société des Professeurs Français et Francophones d'Amérique (SPFFA).
LIV Fund Scholarship - for study in Latin America
LIV Fund awards two $500 scholarships each month to students learning, interning, or volunteering in Latin America.
Morgan Stanley Scholarships - for study in Japan
The Morgan Stanley Scholarships for Study in Japan is for juniors and seniors studying economics and international finance who have been accepted to study abroad in Japan. Awards up to $7,500.
Norman Woodberry Scholarship
The World Affairs Forum offers a scholarship program for students studying abroad. It’s only available to students who reside or study in in Fairfield County CT or Westchester County NY.
Order Sons of Italy in America - for study in Italy
OSIA offers scholarships to students of Italian descent, for studying Italian language on study abroad in Italy.
Overseas American Study Abroad Scholarship
$500 prize to a student with a winning essay to put towards his or her study abroad program.
Rakbo Micro Scholarships
Rakbo is an online publication and forum for student perspectives on the study abroad experience. Students have a chance to win up to $150 dollar monthly micro-scholarship by submitting a 1000-word essay describing why they want to study abroad.

The Watanabe Study Abroad Scholarship - for study in Japan
Provides financial assistance to undergraduates/graduate students for a semester or year-long study abroad program in Japan. The scholarship supports up to the full cost of attendance at the study abroad program of the student’s choice.
