Add Opportunities and Experiences

The Lienhard School of Nursing within the College of Health Professions ensures that clinical and simulation laboratory experiences are a primary component of the student experience. Students build skills and confidence in the Center for Excellence in Healthcare Simulation. The Center offers state-of-the-art resources and a variety of clinical focused learning opportunities ranging from fundamental skills to high-fidelity simulation. Located on both the Westchester and New York City campuses, with a combined 15,000 square feet, the simulation labs use standardized patients (actors who play the role of patients), task trainers, and high-fidelity manikins to train both undergraduate and graduate students in a multidisciplinary approach.

In our program, students complete more than 700 hours of clinical training in a variety of areas, such as behavioral health, maternal and women’s health, pediatrics, acute, chronic, and critical care.

In the final semester, students complete a capstone experience in a unique one-to-one preceptorship with a working registered nurse. This final preceptorship may occur in one of many specialties, including emergency department, intensive or neonatal intensive care, oncology, pediatrics, operating room, and many more.

“I chose Pace because it offered direct admit nursing program and also had a high NCLEX pass rate...what eventually sealed the deal was when I took a tour of Pace and learned about the amazing clinical sites and opportunities offered to students.” —Caitlin Oris ’23
