Outstanding Faculty

Jim DiGabriele

Jim DiGabriele is a numbers guy: he's a forensic accountant and the managing partner of DiGabriele, McNulty & Co. But when it comes to the Pace's DPS program, he sees it as a marketing bonanza.

"Pace has the market cornered," he says. "It's the only program that I looked at that is so deeply committed to combining theory and practice. And because it requires students to have over 10 years of real-world experience, I'm in class with accomplished executives who have, metaphorically, 'taken mountains.'"

DiGabriele, who previously earned master's degrees in taxation and management and finance, says the doctoral experience—especially at Pace—is very different.

"On the doctoral level, it's all about the effort to marry theory and practice," he says. "It requires a much higher level of consciousness. And the dynamic nature of Pace's education made that even more attractive."

Since he is a numbers guy, here are a few more to consider: 20-30, the average hours he spends on doctoral studies each week. 10, the number of years he's thought about going for his doctorate. And finally, 36, the number of months in which he expects to earn the degree.

He laughs. "My family will probably have a parade."
