GreenPace Sustainability Committee
With a long standing record of innovative environmental programs, Pace University is committed to sustainable practices. Pace has five campus locations ranging from urban to suburban featuring diverse settings with unique opportunities for modeling campus greening initiatives. Through this website, the individual campuses - New York City, The Elisabeth Haub School of Law, White Plains, and Pleasantville - are united to convey information about Pace's policies, sustainable measures already implemented as well as plans for future initiatives.
Understanding Sustainability and the Role of Higher Education The formal definition of sustainability is to meet the needs of today without compromising the needs of the future. Given the breadth and depth of expertise throughout an institution of higher learning, sustainable considerations should be incorporated into all facets of operations and academics. We have a responsibility to lessen our footprint and negative impact on the environment to the greatest extent feasible. In doing so, we hope to help secure a healthy and productive planet for future generations.
