The Honors College is open to all majors within the Dyson College of Arts and Sciences, Lubin School of Business, Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems, School of Education, the College of Health Professions, and Sands College of Performing Arts.

Benefits

  • Honors students receive a mentor for their first year at Pace.
  • Honors students receive an Honors Academic Advisor to assist them with their four years at Pace.
  • Honors students enjoy early housing registration and class registration privileges.
  • Honors students receive a minimum of a $15,000 scholarship.
  • Honors students can apply for up to $1,000 to study abroad and $1,000 for their thesis research.

Community

  • The Pforzheimer Honors College is a highly esteemed community of talented undergraduate scholars studying under the distinguished faculty of a great university.
  • Incoming Honors students are assigned an upper-division student as a mentor to help with the transition into college, Pace, and Honors.
  • First-year Honors students who choose to reside on campus will live with their Honors peers on one of several Honors floors in the residence halls, which enriches the experience of students with numerous programs and events.
  • Honors students participate in Welcome Week to get to know Pace, Honors, and their fellow students.
  • The Honors College offers numerous intellectual, cultural, and social events for our students to enjoy, bond, and hang out. These events include: themed movie nights, Broadway shows, museum trips, teatimes, holiday parties, ice cream socials, walking tours, food tours, and many more.

Academics

  • The Honors College is a place to excel throughout your four years at Pace in the company of engaged students and dedicated faculty.
  • Our classes are innovative and engaging, and they require different work rather than merely more work; our professors are the best teachers we have at Pace.
  • In addition to regular faculty advisors, Honors students receive specialized advisement. Both campuses have an Honors Director, Honors advisors based on their major, and a council of Honors Faculty who are there to assist students and to help plan their individual path through their four years at Pace.

Research

  • Honors students complete a thesis, typically in their junior or senior year, under the mentorship of a faculty member that represents their best work.
  • By completing a thesis, Honors students engage in the type of advanced research typically reserved for graduate students and have a writing sample available for graduate school applications and job applications.
  • The Honors research and thesis experience is a building block for advanced study, future scholarship awards for research, and job placement.

Prestigious Fellowships and Scholarships

  • Honors students are strongly supported to maximize their potential through national scholarships, fellowships, and funded research programs.
  • This list includes the Fulbright Scholarship (the most prestigious scholarship offered by the U.S. Government), the Gilman International Scholarship, the Goldwater Scholarship, James Madison Scholarship, Udall Scholarship, Jeannette K. Watson Fellowship, CyberCorps Scholarship for Service, Department of Defense Cyber Scholarship Program, and the National Science Foundation's Research Experiences for Undergraduates.

Admissions Information

  • To be considered for the Honors College, incoming first year students must have a minimum high school grade point average of 90, combined SAT scores of 1280 with Evidence-Based Reading and Writing minimum score of 610 and Math scores of 570, and ACT scores of 27.
  • This past year’s averages were a 94 GPA, 1350 SAT, and 29 ACT.
  • Students may apply as test optional to be considered for admission within the Pforzheimer Honors College.
  • Transfer students will be considered for admission to the Pforzheimer Honors College if they have between 30-45 credits and have a minimum of a 3.5 GPA.
