Faculty Bio

Adrienne is a collaborative theater-maker, director, and theater educator. Adrienne works at the nexus of theater and participatory based experiences to create unique experimental work that builds community through the connection and interaction with public spaces. She is passionate about bringing experimental work to audiences of all ages and sharing live art across generations.

Adrienne's original work has been presented in the U.S., Canada, Scotland, Ireland, Romania, Croatia, and China. From 2012 - 2014, she was the Associate Director of Movement and Horse Choreography on War Horse (Broadway & US National Tour). From 1999 to 2007, she was the co-Artistic Director of award-winning international ensemble, SaBooge Theatre, based in Montreal and Brooklyn.

As an experienced theater educator, Adrienne has taught undergraduate, graduate, and professional actors nationally and internationally. She is the co-founder of Movement Theater Studio, the only Lecoq based acting studio in NYC, and is Associate Professor and Head of the BA Acting and BA Directing International Performance Ensemble (IPE) program at Pace School of Performing Arts

March 2016 - February 2017. Paper Canoe and Tami Stronach Dance, State, $1,500.00. Funded. The development and production of a new work for family audiences as part of Triskelion Arts' inaugural family programming. Light is a unique hybrid of highly visual and dexterously verbal theater; it is interdisciplinary physical theater with complex and nuanced characters.

January 2014 - January 2015. Art of the Matter, Children's Theatre Foundation of America, Private, $40,000.00. Funded. SOHO REP (Soho Repertory Theatre, Inc.) a leading hub for innovative contemporary theatre and recipient of the 2006 OBIE Award for Sustained Artistic Excellence, will join with Brooklyn Arbor, a new public elementary school in Brooklyn with a creative, diverse student population and a magnet grant for Global and Ethical Studies. Together they will develop an episodic, site-specific, theatre experience for K-3rd graders and their families called WASHETERIA. The world of the laundromat, and the diverse community of people and objects it contains will serve as inspiration for the playwrights, designers, and choreographers who will create a series of ever-evolving theatre pieces based on the length of a wash cycle (25 minutes). WASHETERIA! will be performed in a neighborhood storefront and developed with the 200+ students, teachers, and parents of Brooklyn Arbor.
