Dear friends,

Welcome to The Actors Studio Drama School 2024 Repertory Season. This is truly a remarkable undertaking where in six weeks, the school’s graduating MFA students produce seven different scenes, one acts, and full-length plays. Some are written by these students; they’re all acted and directed by them. It’s the culmination of three years of intense study and preparation — and their introduction to the professional theater world.

I’m a dedicated theatergoer, and I’m in awe of these students and their talent, drive, and professionalism. They’ve worked hard, and this rep season is their great triumph. I can’t wait to see them on stages around the city and the world.

At Pace, we believe in learning by doing. That’s what the Actors Studio Drama School does, what this Repertory Season does, and what the Actors Studio has always done. We’re proud that the Actors Studio Drama School is part of Pace University, and we’re especially proud of these MFA grads. They deserve a big round of applause.

Sincerely,

Marvin Krislov

It is with great pleasure and gratitude that we welcome you to Pace University's Actors Studio Drama School 2024 Repertory Season. Your presence and support mean a lot to our students and us. The Actors Studio Drama School's creative activities greatly enrich the Pace Community, and we are pleased to celebrate this season's performances, which are a testament to our talented students' hard work, dedication, and passion for their craft.

As storytellers, our students are part of an ancient universal language that has evolved over millennia. Their craft, as actors, directors, and playwrights, is not just a way to connect and make sense of the world, but a powerful tool for change. In the words of John Kani, 'Art has the power to heal, to transform, and to inspire.' We invite you to be a part of this transformative experience.

I hope you will have the opportunity to attend each week of the season to see all the exciting work our students are presenting!

Good luck and congratulations to the Class of 2024!

As we gather to celebrate the remarkable work of our students, we also honor our strong connection to the Stanislavski System and the enduring legacy of The Actors Studio. These performances not only showcase the incredible talent of our students but also pay tribute to the groundbreaking work of the artists who have come before them.

Under the tutelage of our exceptional faculty, students at The Actors Studio Drama School engage in a unique three-year curriculum that requires collaboration across the disciplines of Acting, Directing, and Playwriting as they explore their individual artistic expressions. From the first day of their training to the final bow of the Repertory Season, our student actors, directors, and playwrights diligently refine their craft in pursuit of authenticity, truth, and emotional honesty that define our work.

The Repertory Season is the culmination of their intensive training, presented to you with pride. As our Dean Emeritus James Lipton once said, The Actors Studio Drama School "asks to be judged - demands to be judged" by you.

We welcome you to our sixteenth Repertory Season at Pace University.
