Hedgehog Cycle

Arthur Burgess, a fan artist with professional aspirations, awaits the midnight release of the latest video game in a certain famous blue hedgehog franchise. For Arthur and his online friends, the excitement is electric, and their optimism is unmatched. Until his brother, Freddy, returns home with devastating news that challenges their survival. Forcing the two brothers to confront their conceptions of family, community, legacy, and how to truly "Live & Learn."

    Ryan Reed is an NH-born, Brooklyn-based emerging playwright, screenwriter, and improviser, and is incredibly excited to have his play The Swimtastic Swimsuit-Man presented as a Staged Reading, and The Hedgehog Cycle in the ASDS 2026 Repertory Season! He made his NYC debut with his 10-minute play Reggie & Jamie. His other playwriting credits include: The Sandwich Project, Easi Women, Evolution, and I wanna love you, but I won't. He has also written several short films, including: The Director (Writer/Co-Producer), In Front Of A Live Studio Audience (Writer/Co-Producer), and Toothbrush (Co-Written with Leah Bickley and Thomas James Boudreau). When not writing he can be seen performing improv, going to the movies, and begging his friends to play Monopoly again. He is a member of the Dramatist Guild and in his final year at the Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University, for his MFA in Playwriting. You can find more of his work on New Play Exchange.

    Aaliyah Alexis, student at Pace University's Sands College of Performing Arts

    Aaliyah Alexis is a New York–based director from Canton, Michigan, with a focus on character-driven and socially resonant storytelling. Her directing credits include The Odd Couple (Female Version), The Lover, and The Fallen Angel. Aaliyah holds a B.A. in Theatre Performance from Hampton University. She approaches directing through collaboration and devising, valuing the creative process as a space for exploration of truth. Deeply committed to representation and accessibility in the arts, Aaliyah seeks to develop original works that amplify underrepresented voices and build community through theatre. She believes powerful storytelling not only entertains but serves as a means of reflection and social change.

    Pace University Actors Studio Drama School Student Jordan Boone

    Jordan Boone (he/him) is an actor raised in Philadelphia, PA. He is a Montclair State University graduate, earning his BFA in Acting. Some of his credits include Anon(ymous) (MSU), The Last Days of Judas Iscariot (MSU), and The Big Meal (MSU). Most notably, he made his New York City stage debut in Spring ‘22 at Teatro LATEA, performing the lead role, Jamie, in an original piece. Jordan would like to express deep gratitude to his family and friends for their tremendous support!

    Massimo Manfredini, student at Pace University's Sands College of Performing Arts

    Massimo Manfredini (he/him) is an actor and singer from Chicago, Illinois who graduated from Carthage College with a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre. He has been involved with the theatrical arts from a very young age, participating in a variety of different productions involving both musicals and plays. Some notable roles he has played recently are Borachio in Much Ado About Nothing, Mendel in Fiddler on the Roof, and Moris Brummel in No Way to Treat a Lady. He would like to thank his family and friends for their endless love and support of his passion for performing.
