Pace’s Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) program is a 42-credit Master of Science program for registered nurses with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing one year of acute care/inpatient nursing experience. This program will prepare you to move into a well-paid career delivering health care in the context of adults/older adults in an acute care setting within a primary health care framework.

Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study
The Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) program is for the master’s-prepared nurse practitioner with certification in another specialty, or a master’s-prepared nurse who wishes to become an adult acute care nurse practitioner. One year of acute care/inpatient experience is required. Credits are determined by gap analysis.
Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Curriculum: Master of Science and CAGS
*Certificate of advanced graduate studies (CAGS) for master’s prepared nurses. Credits determined by gap analysis. NURS 803 & NURS 804 or equivalent masters level courses are prerequisites for the CAGS. NURS 640A, 640C, 681, & 682 are required for all non-nurse practitioners enrolled in the CAGS.

DOCTOR OF NURSING PRACTICE
If you are already a master’s prepared adult acute care nurse practitioner, you can continue on with our Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. Pace’s DNP is offered in an executive/hybrid (online and on-campus) model for the adult acute care nurse practitioner to prepare for the advanced clinical leadership role in translating evidence into practice to improve primary health care delivery outcomes.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates for Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Master of Science degree and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study programs must:
- Be a graduate of an accredited baccalaureate program in nursing
- Be licensed as a registered nurse in New York State
- Demonstrate scholastic aptitude as evidenced by previous academic work, motivation, leadership potential and maturity
- Have an undergraduate cumulative QPA of 3.0
- Evidence of successful completion (grade B or higher) of an undergraduate statistics course is required
- Submit an essay, professional resume and recommendations as described in the application
- Submit official transcripts from each academic institution previously attended
- A personal interview may be required
- Applicants for the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Master of Science or the Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies program must have one year of inpatient/acute care experience
- No standardized admissions test (GRE or Miller Analogy) is required

Application deadline is August 1st for the AGACNP certificate of advanced graduate studies for spring admission. Non-NP applicants for the certificate of advanced graduate studies should contact graduate admissions regarding eligibility for a fall or spring start date. Start date and required credits are determined by gap analysis.
