Nursing Departments

Undergraduate nursing programs for both first-time college students and for those that already have a bachelor's degree to prepare students to take the NCLEX licensure exam.

Three specialty master of science tracks and certificates of advanced graduate studies for nurse practitioners and a doctor of nursing practice program to prepare diverse nurses to provide safe, high-quality, person-centered nursing care that is grounded in an evidence-based framework of primary health care.

The PhD in Nursing program is designed to be a research-intensive experience. Program graduates develop new nursing science, serve as leaders of the profession, and educate the next generation of nurses.

Program Features

Students gain experience at top-tier institutions such as Montefiore Health System, Mount Sinai Health System, New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Health System, NYC Health + Hospitals, and Westchester Medical Center Health Network.

At the Lienhard School of Nursing, students train in the Center for Excellence in Healthcare Simulation in an environment that mirrors real clinical settings. Through high-fidelity simulations, standardized patient encounters, and skill-building scenarios, students practice assessment, communication, and clinical decision-making in a safe, supportive setting.

Our faculty bring learning to life through dynamic, interactive methods that deepen understanding and sharpen critical thinking. Classroom role-plays, case-based discussions, technology-enhanced activities, and team-based challenges help students apply knowledge in real time, sharpen critical thinking, and collaborate effectively.
