Pace Knitting Group (PKG)

Opening Event: Pizza and Paint

Saturday, September 9 at 6:00 p.m. in Elm 2 Lounge
Come and meet the students in the DAIR program and Professor Collins and Professor Cadman, your faculty mentors. We will have pizza, salad and will create abstract watercolor works (no experience needed! We will all be freestyling it, but learning some fun techniques). Hopefully, our work can turn the Elm 2 Lounge into an art gallery space.

The Writing Life: Supernatural Storytelling

This month’s meeting will help you create a flash fiction piece in honor of the spooky season. We'll generate very short stories using surprise and suspense. Whether magic, sci-fi, or horror, we'll create works that are beyond this world. Professor Dana Cadman will lead us. The Writing Life: Meals and Memoirs

Thursday, November 16 at 3:25 p.m. in Elm 2 Lounge
This month’s meeting will be led by Professor Alysa Hantgan. In this workshop, food will serve as an entry point to explore our memories, stories, and senses. We will consider how creative writers approach narrative forms with food sensory experiences and generate new material with a food-sensory activity and writing prompt. The Writing Life series is co-hosted by the Creative Writing Program of the Department of Writing and Cultural Studies.

Hike and Create

Jane Collins will lead a hike in the Pace woods and we will collect pine cones, branches, dried leaves and more and then create festive wreaths, swags, garlands and door decorations. Each student will leave with a handmade decoration to hang on their door or in their suites.
