Pace University Professor of Biology Nancy Krucher, PhD, has received a three-year $400,241 grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) through the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to study new methods to combat cancer cell development of resistance to targeted treatments.

Dyson Professor Emilie Zaslow, an expert in American Girl, talks about how the famed doll company is facing a backlash while promoting inclusion in an article published by The MinnPost.

American Girl built itself around themes like history, girlhood, initiative and innocence. The characters’ wholesome image — combined with expensive dolls that are designed and marketed as something to be explicitly cared for — means that the brand is also one that is “appreciated by more conservative families,” said Emilie Zaslow, a professor and chair of communication and media studies at Pace University and the author of “Playing with America’s Doll: A Cultural Analysis of the American Girl Collection.”

"It begs the question as to why was this person still on the street,"  former NYPD lieutenant and current pace University professor Darrin Porcher said. Porcher also questioned how the suspect got into the room, in the first place. Police sources said the family who previously occupied the room lost a key with the hotel room number on its sleeve. They checked out Sunday. It's believed the suspect found the key. Police have video of him arriving Monday night and leaving Tuesday morning. "We should have greater fortifications and ramifications within that hotel security system to deactivate that key. Why was the key not deactivated on Sunday, when the guests departed the hotel?" Porcher said.

"There is a vast difference between audiences raising legitimate concerns about exploitative, LGBTQ-mediated representations and queerbaiting, and the online trolling of Kit Connor," says Melvin Williams, associate professor of communication and media studies at Pace University.
