Meet Cyber Range: Pace’s new, state-of-the-art facility designed to give students a collaborative, practical immersion in tackling real-life cybersecurity threats, all in real-time.

With a $3.8 million grant from the National Science Foundation, Seidenberg is primed to train the next generation of cybersecurity leaders.
Knowing cybersecurity basics is essential to staying safe online, often called digital hygiene, according to Dr. Pauline Mosley, a Computer Science professor at Pace University. According to the ITRC, more than 1.3 million children were victims of identity theft in 2017, and 50% of this subpopulation is under the age of six. “Educating them in the basics of cybersecurity not only protects their identity, but it literally could save their life,” Dr. Mosley says.

On Tuesday, October 19, 2021, the Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems at Pace University hosted an alumni panel dedicated to the topic of the month, cybersecurity. The panel comprised of four alumni who came together over Zoom to share their wisdom and expertise with current students.
“There is an immense need and demand for cybersecurity experts in our country,” said Professor Li-Chiou Chen, who manages the CyberCorps® Scholarship for Service and CySP programs at Pace. “Because of our expertise, location, and track record, Pace University is uniquely positioned and equipped to deliver on this need – now and for years to come. We are grateful to the National Science Foundation for its continued partnership and support.”

Computer science professor Li-Chiou Chen says there needs to be cyber defenders in the government to “help them analyze the threats and the risks coming from the internet."
