Augmented Intelligence Lab

Where Human Insight Meets Artificial Intelligence

At Pace University, the Augmented Intelligence Lab explores how humans and AI think, decide, and collaborate. Here, you’ll get to study how technology and people interact—and help design AI systems that act as trusted partners in complex, real-world environments.

Human + Machine Collaboration

You’ll get to explore how AI can enhance, challenge, and reshape human decision-making. By studying this relationship, you’ll help develop more intuitive, effective, and ethical AI systems that empower people to think smarter and make better decisions.

Research Focus

At the Augmented Intelligence Lab, you’ll investigate how people interact with and are influenced by AI technologies. Our research examines how different AI designs and interfaces affect human judgment, trust, and behavior across key areas such as:

  • Technology adoption and human-centered design
  • Healthcare and engineering education
  • Cybersecurity and decision support systems

Real-World Impact

You’ll work with faculty mentors and interdisciplinary teams to connect research with real-world challenges. From helping hospitals apply AI in diagnosis to advancing cybersecurity decision tools, your work will make AI more transparent, responsible, and human-centered.
