Valerie Monastra is an is an AICP Certified Planner with over 20 years of experience throughout the Hudson Valley in project management and planning pertaining to land use development, zoning, SEQR, affordable housing and community development projects. Her work focuses on both the public and private sectors. She specializes in working on the local level with municipalities in the creation of land use plans, legislation, and policies. In addition, she has significant expertise in navigating projects through the land use approval process. She is currently a Principal Planner at Nelson Pope and Voorhis, a firm specializing in environmental and land use planning. She also currently serves as a board member for the Westchester Municipal Planning Federation. Valerie holds master’s degrees in Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts University, and in Geochemistry from Cornell University.
