Dan Farkas, PhD is a Professor of Information Systems in the Information Technology Department in Pleasantville. He is the founder and current Chair of the AIS Special Interest group on GIS (SIGGIS). His research interests include interdisciplinary applications of GIS. At Pace, he has been innovative in developing curriculum in Computer Security, Web Development and Geographic Information Systems. He has given tutorials and workshops on Networking, Linux Administration, and GIS concepts nationally and internationally for over 30 years. Interdisciplinary at heart, he holds a BA in History, MS in Computer Science and PhD in Educational Technology from New York University. Supporting his interest and research in Environmental Conservation, he has an MS in Environmental Science and Policy from Johns Hopkins University.

Namchul Shin

Namchul Shin is Professor of Information Systems in the Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems, Pace University. He received his Ph.D. in Management (specialization in MIS) from the University of California at Irvine. His research interests focus on the areas of innovation, IT value, location analytics, nonprofits, open data, and electronic commerce. His work has been published in journals such as Decision Support Systems, Electronic Commerce Research and Applications, European Journal of Information Systems, Industry and Innovation, International Journal of Information Management, Journal of Electronic Commerce Research, Nature, and Science, among other journals. He is associate editor of Journal of Electronic Commerce Research and editorial board member of Business Process Management Journal. He has served the Office of the Provost as a faculty fellow from 2012 to 2014 and is currently a faculty fellow at the Wilson Center at Pace University.
