Pace University integrates Becker’s industry-leading CPA exam preparation courses into its undergraduate and graduate accounting programs. These courses strengthen your accounting knowledge, prepare you for the CPA exam, and give you a competitive advantage as you begin your professional career.

Program Benefits and Support

  • Tuition-Free Courses: Pace offers two CPA Review Courses tuition-free to students enrolled in its undergraduate and graduate accounting programs: Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR) and Auditing and Attestation (AUD).
  • Discounted Course Materials: For a substantially discounted fee, students receive access to the Becker CPA Review digital platform for FAR and AUD, along with printed textbooks.
  • Expert Faculty Advisers: Students receive guidance from Pace accounting faculty advisers Dr. Myo Jung Cho and Dr. Ping Wang, who bring specialized expertise in auditing and financial accounting. Faculty advisers provide course guidance and are available for individual consultation.

CPA Review Academic Achievement Awards

Each semester, the top-performing student in each undergraduate and graduate FAR and AUD course will receive a CPA Review Academic Achievement Award. A total of eight students will receive this honor each academic year. Each recipient will receive a $500 award and a commemorative plaque.

To qualify, a student must earn the highest score on the Accounting Department’s CPA Simulation Exam in the student’s course section that semester. A minimum score of 65% is required.

    You may register for these courses in any semester after completing the required prerequisites. Pace students who wish to take CPA exam sections on REG, BAR, ISC or TCP may register directly with Becker for special pricing.

  • The courses combine faculty guidance with self-paced study and include the following components:

    • Class Meetings: Faculty advisers meet with students three to five times during the semester, either in person or online, for orientation, progress checks, and exam reviews. Students may also schedule individual consultations for personalized assistance.
    • Becker Platform: Students watch instructional videos and complete assigned exercises and assessments on the Becker platform.
    • Evaluation: Course grades are based on participation in faculty-led sessions, work completed on the Becker platform, and the final simulation exam.

  • Yes. The CPA review courses are an integral part of Pace’s accounting curricula. All students must earn a passing grade in both FAR and AUD to satisfy their degree requirements.

  • Completing the materials for each course generally requires about 100 hours, depending on your background and study habits. Students carrying a heavy course load are strongly advised not to take FAR and AUD in the same semester.

  • You must earn an overall course average of at least 65%. The course components are weighted as follows:

    Component and Weight

    • Attendance and participation in faculty-led sessions – 5%
    • Completion and performance on the Becker platform (e.g., videos, quizzes, and assignments) – 45%
    • Final exam (closed-book and in person) – 50%

    Faculty advisers will provide additional details during orientation and in the course syllabus.

  • You will receive an Incomplete grade and have up to six months to complete the remaining requirements. Once you achieve an overall course average of at least 65%, your grade will be changed to Pass.

  • You will receive your Becker login ID and password near the end of the second week or the beginning of the third week of the semester.

  • If you have passed the corresponding section of the official CPA exam, you may receive a waiver for that review course. Submit your official score report to your Lubin academic adviser, who will submit the course-waiver form on your behalf.

  • Submit your Becker registration confirmation and Becker login ID to your faculty adviser so you can participate in the review course with other students. You will receive a waiver for the corresponding Pace CPA review course after earning an overall course average of at least 65%. Through this arrangement, you do not need to register for the Pace course or pay the associated Becker access fee again.

  • No. Pace CPA review courses are available only to students currently enrolled in Pace undergraduate or graduate accounting programs and to Pace alumni. They are not open to individuals who have not attended Pace.
