Pivot is a great resource for faculty, staff and students interested in identifying relevant funding opportunities for their research, scholarship, teaching, and creative activities. Pace University now has a subscription to the Pivot database.

Access to Pivot

You can register by clicking on the “sign up” link in the upper right hand corner of the website; use your Pace email address and create a password to get started. We created a step-by-step guide to create a Pivot account (PDF) on-campus and off-campus.

Claiming your Pivot profile

Claiming an existing Pivot profile is not required in order to use Pivot, however, there are certain benefits you receive by doing so:

  • Pivot Advisor: The Advisor makes funding opp recommendations for you based on your profile. These recommendations are automatically available on your Pivot Homepage when you have claimed your profile and a set of funding opp recommendations will be included in your weekly Funding Alert email. If you do not claim or create a profile, you will not see the Advisor recommendations on your homepage.
  • Updating your profile: If you do not Claim your profile, you cannot update it. Why make sure your profile is updated? Your profile is viewed by thousands of Pivot users who may be looking for potential collaborators for a research project. You may be overlooked because your profile is missing critical information.

Searching for funding

Pivot is a customizable, searchable database that includes many federal, foundation, and private funding opportunities across different disciplines. You can search by keyword and specify matches based on funding type, applicant type, activity location, and other relevant factors. You can conduct basic and advanced searches.

Saving a search query and creating personalized funding alerts
When you save your search queries through Pivot, you can receive automatic weekly funding alerts that notify you of any new or updated opportunities that match your search, including newly updated and added opps.
