A Conversation with Nikole Hannah-Jones

An Evening with Nikole Hannah-Jones and the Andrew Goodman Foundation

Earlier this year, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones published a powerful piece called What It Means to Be a White 'Race Traitor' in The New York Times Magazine, examining the long history of white activists who have put themselves in danger fighting for racial justice. The article traces this legacy through Andrew Goodman, Michael Schwerner, Renee Good, Alex Pretti, and white activists across our nation's history who chose solidarity with racial justice over their personal safety.

On October 27, the Andrew Goodman Foundation is hosting a conversation with Hannah-Jones, David Goodman, brother of Andrew Goodman and Robert Masters, Freedom Summer volunteer and Chair Emeritus of The Andrew Goodman Foundation. The evening will ground us in this history and ask: What does it mean for white Americans to choose racial justice today, and what can we learn from those who have risked everything? Please register in advance to participate.
