Great Comet - Performance
Inspired by a scandalous slice of Tolstoy’s War and Peace, Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812 is an electrifying musical that follows Natasha, a young woman who arrives in Moscow while waiting for her fiancé to return from war, and Pierre, a jaded and awkward old soul who longs for more in his lonely life, as they navigate finding their truest selves. This production, set at one of the late-night raves that emerged in Moscow as the Soviet Union fell in the early 1990s, features Dave Malloy’s groundbreaking electropop score, and asks its audience to join in on the journey to find one’s peace amongst the lights of a party, the shadow of war, and the hope a Great Comet can bring.
