PISA - Ratri before Navratri
The event will bring the spirit of Navratri (an Indian festival) to Pace University’s diverse student community through Garba and Raas – a dance form, Indian food, Prasad, Traditional décor, and arrangements honoring Devi (Goddess).
Our vision extends beyond organizing a traditional Garba celebration. Pace University is home to students from across the world, many of whom may have seen or heard about Garba but have never had an opportunity to participate in it.
Through Ratri Before Navratri, PISA aims to make this vibrant Indian tradition accessible to the wider Pace community.
The event will combine celebration with cultural learning. Students unfamiliar with Garba will be welcomed through guided and beginner-friendly participation. Alongside that, experienced attendees will have the opportunity to celebrate and share the tradition they already know.
By bringing these audiences together, we hope to create an evening where students can learn, participate, celebrate, enjoy Indian food, and experience Indian culture firsthand—regardless of their nationality or previous familiarity with Navratri.
