December 2025: A Playlist from President Krislov
A little Broadway. A little global flair. A little New York. A lot of joy.
Once again, President Marvin Krislov shares the music that moved, inspired, or energized him this year. From stage-worthy anthems to head-nodding beats, this playlist offers a fresh soundtrack for winter break—reflecting artistry, momentum, and the kind of hope that carries us into a new year. Whether you're wrapping up finals, resting after a whirlwind semester, or mapping out big dreams for 2026—this mix is for you.
“For Good” – Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande
Because sometimes, the best way to head into a new year is to reflect on the people who changed us along the way. A Broadway classic, beautifully reborn.
“Opalite” – Taylor Swift
Mysterious, luminous, and quietly powerful—like the week before New Year’s when time stops making sense.
“Dean Town” – Vulfpeck
Finals brain? Try this funky instrumental groove to reset your neurons. Bonus: it turns any dorm room into a jazz club.
“Bang!” – AJR
Chaotic, catchy, and very much finals-core. For when you’re pulling an all-nighter but still want to keep things theatrical.
“Subway” – Chappell Roan
Melodramatic in the best way, with a New York soul. Feels like a C train ride from heartbreak to main character.
“Born to Run” – Bruce Springsteen
Sometimes you just need The Boss to remind you to go for it. This one’s for dream-chasers and road-trippers alike.
“New York, New York” – Frank Sinatra
A toast to the city that fuels our ambition and gives us bagels. Always iconic. Always in style.
“You’re All I Need to Get By” – Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell
Pure Motown magic—soulful, clean, and timeless. Best played while making pancakes or writing that last paper.
“Messy” – Lola Young
For anyone navigating the beautiful chaos of being human. Honest, chill, and a winter break mood.
“Dear Theodosia” – Leslie Odom Jr. and Lin-Manuel Miranda
A quieter moment from Hamilton—simple, hopeful, and just right for looking ahead. Welcome back, Leslie.
“What Was I Made For?” – Billie Eilish
Existential but in a cozy-sweater way. For snowy mornings and staring out windows thoughtfully.
Whether you’re heading home, staying local, or just catching your breath after a busy semester, press play on this winter playlist. President Krislov’s picks are all about reflection, celebration, and the joy of music that connects us.
